When we boondock in the desert, my son carries a 50 gal plastic barrel, food grade equipped with a 12 volt pump from Harbor Freight. That pump is wired to plug into the 7 way RV socket on the truck. We usually go to a nearest fire station, and they normally will let you fill up. When back at camp, hook onto short pump hose fitting with RV water hose and fill er' up... I can usually go 6-7 days without needing a refill, but that depends on the wife and showers too, ha..
