Ford is very touchy about the air filter, also. It's right in the manual. And that filter is not cheap. Last time I looked it was over $100. However, at 85,000 miles when we traded the Ford it still had the original air filter. And the filter minder said it was less than 10% blocked. Two dealers told me it was fine. Good thing, at $100 per pop.
