We stayed there in Oct. of 2013. When we arrived to check in, we were given a map of the park and a golf cart and we were able to pick the space we wanted. At the marina, you can charter a boat to go fishing in the inner coastal waterways.We did a 4 hr. private charter and really enjoyed being out on the water. At the time we were there it was catch and release only. We caught several different sharks. Both of us caught a good sized Red Fish and my husband caught a Sting Ray. It took him over a half hour to real it in. We didn't know what it was until it was close to the boat.
We took a day trip into Savannah. We took a trolley tour which was very interesting. After the tour we were dropped off by the water. We ended up walking the whole tour, so we could see everything up close. When you are ready to head back to your vehicle, Parking in the tour parking lot, you call the trolley company and they will pick you up where ever you are at. The Hilton Head area and Savannah area was one of our favorite stops on our 6 month trip.
