This only used for storage when not in use, same as the water hose. Yes I agree with the possibilities of problems if used when coiled. I am not sure how it could even be used when coiled as it is in the wrong location for that.
It is only meant as a handy way to wind them up and be out of the way and then very easy to unwind and put to use.
