Laws, strict or not, will not protect you and yours. You are the final and only source of ANY protection, whatever it may be. Law enforcement officers [and the courts], no matter how well meaning, concerned or capable, are enforcers of laws [also a Supreme Court decision], not our protectors, there are not enough of them and if there were, we would be living in a police state. They are reactive because they cannot see into the future and couldn't do anything if they could because no laws would be broken until the criminal act occurs.
