Seem strange that the freezer will operate on gas. May have a coolant leak--did you notice in strange odors or see any yellowish powder in the back of the ref.? You have a three year warranty on the ref. assuming that it is a Dometic. You will have to take to your dealer anyway for an analysis of what is wrong and what parts are needed.
