You should also be concerned about the distance from the back of the couch to the front so it clears the slides. On our 3402, we have to turn the recliners so the slides can come in, and a sofa wouldn’t work for us, regardless of the furnace vent. I don’t think the couch would stop heat from coming out, as it would still move, just would have to go sideways.
