You can go 35,000 miles between changes or change oil at 5000 miles, but should you. I’ll take the manufacturers recommendations and change it when they say I should. GM says 3000 is a waste of money. I don’t know of any manufacturer that will warranty an engine that went 35,000 miles between charges.
