Our galley tank was cracked under the drain pipe. I tried the liquid with the fiberglass cloth and while it may work fine on the top but now so well upside down as I was. What a mess, I was picking epoxy off myself for a week. I went to the local auto parts store and bought a "CarGo" Quicksteel Plastic Tank Repair Kit. This has a 2 part epoxy stick, sandpaper, degreaser, and screen for large holes. Since this is puttylike there was no mess and so far it is holding good but I have my fingers crossed. If you are repairing a crack it helps to drill a small hole on each end to keep it from spreading.
Eternabond makes a reinforced tape that they claim will repair cracked tanks. If it works an well as regular Eternabond this might be a good way to repair a leaky tank.
