I'm having the same problem and will try your fix. Also I noticed using the black tank flush, it doesn't do all that great of a job. Maybe with the back flow preventor out of the line it will work better.
I also took the suggestions posted on MOC and use the Flush King valve and by back flushing at the drain, I get more yuck coming out than with the factory back flush system. It would be great if both systems would work together for a better cleaning.
