Of courses synthetic is excellent oil, but as evidenced by the vast majority of tractor trailer operators, standard diesel oil is fine. Many run a million miles on it, much longer than the majority of RVers will go. As noted above, frequency of change is more important than type oil. If it makes you feel better to use synthetic, knock your self out...your truck do as you please.
