I went with the 7,000 pound axle on account of mor-ryde's recommendation after they weighed it. With my trailer loaded i weigh 16,200 pounds. This leaves 12,720 pounds on the axles and 3480 pounds on the hitch. I don't recall how much weight was own each wheel but i was below the limits. The gvw on most Montana's is 16,000 pounds so i am over that by 200 pounds. No matter what axle they install your gvw is still the same as the manufacture is the only one that can set that. With 8,000 pound axles i would be even more over my gvw than i am now but i was willing to go with what ever recommendation they had. The independent suspension and disc brakes increase the weight of the trailer by several hundred pounds. These are the best improvements you can make on your RV but quite expensive. I had the mor-ryde 4100 suspension with wet bolts but after one of the wet bolts broke and shifted the rear axle, i was ready to go with the IS.
