i thought so too. My pockets are not deep - but I know I just don't care enough on the batteries.
Alternative is to get AGM's and then I would need most likely 4 6V or 3 12V which brings me to 600-800.
Blown them once will bring me straight on the cost for 2 LI Batteries.
Ask me how I know, just blew a pair.

I just have no patience to take the time for batteries - thats why I bought that time with those LI batteries.
Different view I guess.
