Ozz, thank you for sharing the pics of your bike rack hitch.
The one I plan on having built will go from frame to frame in three places ( about two feet apart) with a drawbar/receiver mounted up the center. It will be about 4' long to spread the load down the frame. By doing it this way the enclosed underbelly will only get some minor trimming.
