Those valves cause more problems then they are worth. Remove it completely. I see absolutely no use for them. When you hook up to flush your tank, the tank should be mostly empty. There is no way for water/sewage to get sucked back into the system since the spray head would not be submerged unless you are doing something wrong when flushing your tank.
