Normal. Ours does the same thing. Front left, then front right. I too have to retract a bit to unhitch if I overshoot.
You will enjoy this feature. Just make sure you pull your truck forward out of the way. As it starts the leveling process it lowers the front way down.
I love watching the folks around us watch as it levels itself while I crack a cold one.
