We have been in the Montana now for 5 years. I agree with others that debt free is a must. We winter for 6 months in the Yuma area, boon docking for $180 for the season. Then we head back to Canada, before Uncle Sam decides he wants us to pay taxes, and park at our daughters, on 80 acres, for free. hubby works 3 days a week, because he wants to right now. As Canadians we pay $118 a month for universal health care, but that will be 0$ when we both turn 65. The only unknown expense is fuel when we travel South and the cost of out of country health insurance for the winter months (last winter it was $2000). So, a simple life for us now after selling our home of 30 years, our Monty is definitely home. As we spend as many hours outside as we can, we don't miss the house at all
