Phil; there is no doubt that you will be able to remove that sofa bed it's just a matter of how difficult the job might be in dealing with the weight, restricted space and of course those unstable entrance stairs. From my experience there is only one way to make this easier and that is to lighten the load. As Dennis said #1 take the back off. Further to that I would #2 open the bed and remove the mattress and #3 detach the mechanism from the bed and remove it separately by lifting the sofa bed frame off the frame leaving that heavier piece to remove at the end. The mechanism is only held in there by at the most 3 screws and two bolts on each side. When you have the unit open with the mattress removed you will see just how easy this is. It's only time consuming to dismantle and reassemble the bed when out but it sure does save anyone from a strained back and damaging the bed, doorway and rig while struggling with the weight of the complete bed!!!
