The sad truth is you don't have a need to make the improvements. Your unit doesn't have any of the issues of the new "improved" version. As long as you keep your filters clean and adjust your dumps to your satisfaction you should be fine. You could cut every other fin on supply vents you want more to come out of, but adjusting the dumps on your unit was enough for me. We did have a member named Ozz who suggested cutting the sleeves on the older units (he was an HVAC man) but I never had the need on my old rig. If I could have got our new rig with the same A/C you have I would have.
