as green as they come

Good morning, Montana haulers! First off, please don't be put off by the username. It's a variation on a nickname given me when I was in the service. My wife, Joanne, and I are really quite harmless.

We are approaching retirement and I have been looking for the ideal RV to do some extensive travelling; but not fulltiming.

Several years ago, I bought a new '94 Dodge RAM 2500 with a Cummins engine. It's been a great workhorse.

We are considering a couple of new RVs; a 2004 Hitchhiker II 30.5 RLBG LS and a 2004 Montana 2980RL. The Montana looks great, but, like my subject indicates, we are very new to this. We would appreciate hearing from anyone about the Montana; its quality, usability, and resale value. Especially if any of you had considered the Hitchhiker.

The weight is a little heavy for my truck, so we're also considering a new GMC 3500 dually 4x4 with Duramax diesel and Allison automatic.

We would appreciate hearing from any or all. Thanks in advance.
