Anyone who has had a ham radio license for a long time will remember the noises we were subjected to in our mobile rigs, generator, alternator and ignition noises were "suppressed" over the years in various ways with varying success. Remember when they went from stranded spark plug wires to carbon filled, rarely is there a problem these days.

I owned a construction equipment rental business until retirement and I rented generators from 1500 watt to 6500 watt, most of them were Honda albeit not the type now sold as RV type. I had no idea there might have been something in the spark plug cap that acted as a noise suppressor, and I never had a problem with one in that area. Honda were the quietest running, required the least maintenance and overhauls of any we owned.

That's a new one on me and tells us again we can always learn something new.
