Mike, if I recall, the size of the door is determined by the "rough" cut in the wall. Since the frame and door are attached with the hinge, it is all one piece. It is length X height. In some cases, it might also include the thickness of the wall. So, you may want to know that, also.
Before installing the new door, make sure there is putty tape all around the inside of the frame for obvious reasons.
