I agree, NO unnecessary holes in the roof. I would not have an issue with a hole through the side wall as long as it is properly sealed up. I drilled 2- 6" holes for 2 speakers in our slide wall up high and a 3" hole down low for the remote marine controller to the stereo system I installed years ago. Siliconed the speakers and the controller in place. No issues.
