I've purchased all new 110 fixtures for our monty (5) and will install them after I pick up the monty next month. In our home, and with some of my customers, we have done fixtures that use the halogen gu10. Frankly, I think there are better ways to do lighting....the 50watt give off a LOT of heat, use a lot of power. Yes, you can get lower wattage, even led's that'll fit the sockets and use only like 1 or 2 watts and be MUCH cooler...but the price of them, wow. I'm still researching for future, but for now the fixtures I bought are NOT gu10 bases. Example....I bought 5 fixtures. If they were gu10 bases, and I bought led bulbs for them, it would've cost me initially way over 100 bucks for the bulbs. Granted, they have a long life span..or do they, when being bounced down the road ? Hey, lots of food for thought, lots of things to consider I guess.
Whatever you decide, post pics when you're done !
