QUESTION ABOUT LIGHTING FIXTURES

I started looking today at track and pendant lighting fixtures to provide some better lighting in our kitchen. I want to go with 12 volt fixtures because they will be an easier replacement/upgrade. On some of the kits I saw today I noticed that they can use either 120V or 12V light bulbs. So excuse my ignorance here, but can I use this type fixture wired into my 12V system using the 12V bulbs and will it work? If so, it looks like there is a wide variety of choices and should be fairly simple. Oh by the way, the bulbs are 50 watt halogen GU10 base but there are lower wattages available. Thanks in advance for your answers.
