In theory it is not really a problem. However, if you have an autoslider hitch it won't work. Also, you want to be careful about banding your tailgate on the trailer at an odd angle. I know that even straight on with my tailgate down i only have a couple of inches between the tailgate and the trailer.
Go slow, use judgment and watch YouTube to see other peoples mistakes so that you don't make them yourself. Good luck!
