Is it just the hot water? The smell usually comes from organic or sulphur. We would get it in our house. Usually in hot water it is hot enough to burn off. You need to get some bleach and water mixture in the tank. May be your anode plug as well. Can get growth in tank. May want to sanitize your system. Both cold and hot with a bleach mixture. You could put bleach and water in fresh tank then pump it through with water pump. Make sure to flush system with fresh water.
