Rondo,

The poker walk is an adaptation of a jet ski or motorcycle poker run. Each participant buys a sheet. Each day they walk, they draw a card from a deck of cards and record the card they drew on the sheet. For us the wagon masters will stamp their sheet for the day. At the end of 5 days (or the end of the rally), the best poker hand wins and the proceeds are divided up. You can award multiple places if you wish. At some rallies, they allow you to buy a 6th card to try to improve your hand. We have also seen it done as a fund raiser to defer costs.

In our event, it makes no difference how far you walk. You just have to show up to get your card between 8-9.
If you're interested, PM either Marilyn or I and we can send you a sample sheet.
