I've run diesels since 1994, those early years just ran non syn Rotella 15-40 and changed every 5000 miles because it wasn't expensive and did it myself. With the latest truck I run Rotella T-6 full synthetic and Hot Shots FR3 oil additive. I have the dealer change it every 7500 miles. I have the water separator drained every oil change. I have the dealer change the fuel filters at 20k miles as well as the air filter. I use all genuine MotorCraft filters, you can save a ton of money on filters at dieselfilteronline.com. I also found the water separator drain caps on that site for under 4.00, it's good to have a couple unhand in case one should break if you had to drain the separator while on a trip in the middle if nowhere. So far mine has not used any oil in the 30k miles I have put on the 6.7
