I had experience with forgetting to let the pressure out. We went up to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, its 8300 ft and that night the mattress was as hard as a rock,close to 100lbs. No damage just let it out to 35lbs. Just recently six years later my side the Mattress developed a leak. They charged me half price for the replacement.
