I would just be careful about blocking too much air flow there... The main reason that I was told by Aram for going to a two vent system from a one vent system, was that the engineers decided that one fully operational vent "just barely met" the airflow requirements for the furnace. Too close for comfort, so Keystone set about increasing the grill area.
