Forest Closures Southwest Colorado

Anyone planning summer trips to SW Colorado should reconsider. As of today the San Juan National Forest is closed to almost all activities. Other forest in this area are expected to close also. I think they should have closed it sooner. We were on patrol a couple days ago and found some campers with fires going; there has been a fire ban for months.

The 416 fire (near Durango) is now at 22000 acres. The Burro fire about 1000 acres. Estimates floating around are that these fires could reach 65000 acres.
