I use vinegar as a fabric softener and I put it in the fabric softener dispenser. I fill the softener section with it (on mine, a 7100XC, it has cross hair marks) and it works great! At home I have an HE machine and I like to line dry. With line drying clothes tend to become more stiff so I read somewhere that 'back in the day' they used vinegar as a fabric softener. I don't like Downy or other fragrance type softeners so I decided to try it. It works GREAT!

The added benefit to using it is that it keeps the sudsing down and also helps keep the pipes clean. Let us know what works best for you! Nice to see some other ladies on the forum!
