During other short time travels we have come across situations where estabishments do not take credit cards, but only cash.
What would be a good safe amount of actual cash to keep on hand when traveling on these long term trips (6 months to a year)? I know we don't need to carry cash for the entire time out there because we can stop at banks & Walmarts, etc to get more.
$500, $1,000, $2,000 or what. Just need a general idea.
