Hi Karen, and welcome to the Forum. Installation of Whirlpool units at the factory would be new news. The original factory installs were Ariston as shown in the brochure. If they are Ariston, an external dryer vent is required (they are not ventless).

The Big Sky you looked at may have been a Dealer install, who knows.

$1795 would be a good price installed at the factory. We bought the Ariston system at Camping World for $1,400 (cheapest I could find if you consider shipping), but I have to install. The Big Sky factory install includes an elevated shelf for the dryer and a vent, so it would be worth the price you were quoted, in my opinion.
