Steve I think hit the problem. Loose wire nuts up in the AC for the thermostat connections can cause an intermittent thermostat problem to occur. Those are the two thin wires with grey wire nuts. When changing the relay control from the Remote Thermostat to the CCC, the wire nut from one of those wires fell off in my hand as soon as I touched the wire. There wasn't much holding that splice together. I am surprised I didn't have intermittent problems myself.
