We have the same trailer scottz with the same problem. The part of the slide that is supposed to glide across the floor actually has sharp protrusions that gouge the floor. Probably staple heads or similar used where they shouldn't be used. It has nothing to do with the adjustment of the slide.

We bought two pieces of lexan 12" x however long it is between the island and curbside wall. Place them about a foot apart. Problem solved at least until some day the slide has to be removed and we can fix it right. We use a rubber mat in that area of the kitchen so we don't have to deal with looking at or moving the lexan everywhere we go.
