mlh - Where did you camp in Union Pass. I drove up about 12 miles past the restaurant from the North side. I didn't see any areas to camp. However it was around mid to late June and there were snow banks covering the road where I stopped.

Union Pass is my favorite place to camp. There is deer, elk, moose, marmots, brown and black bear up there and still snow on the ground at the higher elevations and trout in every stream and lake.
