My rubber flaps that are on the outside never completely flap out when extending the slide. Part flips out and part stays flipped in. I always put a ladder up and flip it out when rain is expected. The sides of the slide have the same problem. It is a real pain in the A---. I found this out the hard way. We had a heavy rain, the trailer was parked in the yard and wasn't level. the pitch caused the water to run towards the rubber flap which was flipped in. all the water ran towards the inside which isn't sealed. Water ran to the flange that is on the inside of the trailer leaked through the seem and dripped out of the light fixture. It took me several days to dry everything out and seal the inside part of the roof ( the same spot as the outside with the screws) but the inside. I now make sure the trailer is always level and the rubber flaps are flipped out when the slides are out and rain is expected.
