We negotiated the extended service plan at the time of purchase and went with the $200 deductible as I was interested in protection for the big ticket items, if our the plan is not used for any claim we obtain a percentage back which is better than a kick in the pants. Our 32' TV crapped out in Feb of this year (built in 08) and we just went to Costco the same day and bought a new for $330. If it was the fridge, and/or any other mechaical part that was ultra expensive then we would make a claim for a serviceman to come in and change it out. This has worked well for us in the past with RVs.
Kinda of sad to see number of claims made because of poor materials and workmanship in an RV, this includes the high dollar Class As. We as customers continue to accept this; not like the automotive industry where there are numerous safety standards and hurdles that must be attained before that vehicle is released for the road.
