I feel your pain, we too live in Maine and paid $2400.00 in excise tax. I think it is a rip off. When it bottoms out it we will still be paying around $400.00 for as long as we own it. Jim still gets so worked up about it, that when it's time to register, I do it as quietly as I can.....
