I thought about installing a shutoff but didn't want to add the extra length and will just bank that turning off the main water input is enough and I won't need to use the water when doing this. Your preference, but it's good to bring up a future "I shoulda done it" moment.
In my case I shoulda added one inline in the basement right under the toilet's floor. But I wanted to hurry up with the repair.
