I think you will be very happy with your choice. We have had a similar card for several years and love it. There are very few places it does not work. And has been pointed out they are improving all the time. Even when we're in Quartzsite we are able to make a connection. We do not use an amplifier or any other extension device. When we are just overnighting we'll often use the air card vs setting up the DirecWay Satellite.
Anyway you'll enjoy it. When we got the card we got rid of our DSL line. Been happy with it since.
