BAL slide cable change

I just had my frayed cable slide changed. It is an easy process. Open slide half way, cut frayed cable and use the new cable supplied by BAL $26 at Amazon. It has a sleeve that will help pull the new cable through using the cut old cable. You can access the old cable and mechanism from on top of the room slide. Difficult part was removing all the frayed and cut portions of the old cable. When done tighten all cables leaving a little bit of slack for the mechanism to get a start before applying pressure to the system.

VERY IMPORTANT: once done look at the position of the anchoring attachment to the slide. As you move the slide in it will be well below (in my case) horizontal entry point of the RV frame. This is why they fray. Check all 8 cables. Move the anchoring post to be exactly horizontal so you will not have the problem. Crimper and cable cutter needed.
