I have a long bed so I am not much help...but. The trailer doesn't sit directly over the hitch, the tongue sticks out far enough it is behind the hitch. I have never had the trailer get close to the cab even when turning in a tight spot at the campground.
Check it out from every direction and measure like crazy before making the commitment. I wouldn't trade mine for any other hitch.
