I had the same thing happen on my kitchen slide while on a long trip.

Turns out that a screw popped up from the floor of the slide opening, either stripped or unscrewed itself. So, with the slide a little more than halfway extended, I jacked the slide up at both ends until the roof of the slide touched the top of the slide opening.

It didn't give enough room to try to screw it back down, so I used a sawz-all to cut it off at floor level. I figured that if it wasn't screwed down anyway, it wouldn't hurt if it was just chopped off. Been fine ever since.

Might not be the "correct" way to fix it, but it was a whole lot easier than pulling the slide completely out for one screw.
