"Bullheading" two air conditioners into one duct is never a good idea from a mechanical standpoint. It functions well when one unit is a backup for the other, if one shuts down on failure, and can be mechanically isolated from the other [motorized damper]. Our 3402 has non-ducted bedroom cooling and rear main ducted AC, the Dometic controller has a sensor in the bedroom in addition to the main living area, allowing two setpoints, for Zone 1 [main] and Zone 2 [bedroom]. I won't offer an opinion of this control, I would have preferred something else. Yes the bedroom can be very noisy, but frankly I prefer this arrangement.
