After filling your supply tank the valve should be placed on "Normal Flow", otherwise you will pull air into the system. I found that when my pump cycled on and off in short bursts, it was because I had air in one or more of the inside lines. I purged each faucet and toilet until there was no more air in each line. The pump quit turning on and off and would not cycle until water was used. I test for leaks from time to time by running the water pump until it shuts off. Then I turn the pump off and wait for several hours, usually overnight, and then I open a faucet to see if it has strong pressure. After test I turn the pump back on.
