I decided to sell my 2006 Duramax 3500 SRW and use a more fuel efficient tow vehicle for our 13,975 pound 3400RL.
Since we are going full time, I looked around and decided that I didn't need two vehicles and what with the Envoy XUV just taking up space in storage, opted to outfit our second vehicle (now our primary vehicle).
The key to this Envoy is that the roof retracts. Remember the commercials of a couple of years ago touting the versatility of the roof retraction system? Well, with a sliding hitch, we don't have any problems and since the engine is the classic, fuel efficient Vortec V6, I expect we'll get somewhere around 16-18 mph.
The best part is the ride - it is so smooth, it is like a car!
For all of you out there looking for a new tow vehicle, I suggest you look around for a good, used Envoy XUV.
