I was having the very same problem with my a/c on my 3400RL. I have changed a few things and the problem has not happened since. I dont know which one of the changes was the cure but thought I would pass them along. I always run mine on high as stated above, I try to keep the temp set approx. 20 degrees cooler than outside temp. I used to run on fan, now I use the auto setting. The big one I think that did it was I was also using the ceiling fan to help move the air around. The problem is the fan blades are directly under the warm air return on the a/c, in my opinion it was sending cold air back into the a/c instead of warm air causing the coils to "freeze" up. I ran this by my service tech, and he said never thought of it, but that sure would freeze the a/c. So now no fan when a/c is on. Going to install second a/c this spring when the coach comes out of storage. When the temps reach 100+ I think the one a/c is working to hard to keep that much coach cool.
